Unleashing the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) with Maxis to solve real business problems

The Maxis IoT Challenge which was launched in May 2019 to gather ideas to help unleash the potential of IoT has received overwhelming response.

By tapping into some of the creative and passionate minds Malaysia has to offer, a shortlist of 20 potential winners were selected for the final pitching to our panel of judges.

It is the first of many joint initiatives that Maxis is undertaking to foster innovation for all Malaysians.

Key themes of the challenge:

Smart Cities for Safer Communities
of Tomorrow:

How can we transform cities into intelligent ecosystems making them safer and more accessible for the communities living in them?

Smart Manufacturing for
Factories of the Future:

How can we build an environment where machinery and equipment are able to improve processes through automation and self-optimisation to reduce the risk of error and downtime?

Smart Agriculture for
Productive Plantations:  

How can farmers gain better visibility and control over the plantation and the process of raising livestock and growing crops by using Precision Agriculture to improve predictability and efficiency?

Cash prizes and rewards:

Cash prizes of RM15,000, RM10,000 and RM5,000 for the top 3 winners

Seed funding of up to RM100,000

Access to Mentoring Programme from industry experts and future collaborations with Maxis

Maxis IoT Challenge Pitch Day:

The Maxis IoT Challenge was launched back in May and received overwhelming response from the entry submissions, following our challenge
roadshows in Penang, Kuching and Kuala Lumpur.

The final round will be held on 20th August 2019 where finalists will pitch their prototypes to our panel of judges.

  • Saving lives with IoT assisted emergency response
  • Modernised disaster management

Smart Manufacturing : 4 Finalists

  • Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance
  • Asset tracking for logistics management

Smart Agriculture: 7 Finalists

  • Plantation worker and harvester productivity tracking
  • Heavy machinery monitoring
  • Yield impact with precision agriculture
