What is this asset monitoring solution?
This asset monitoring solution helps you to monitor all your indoor assets to provide information such as the condition or location of your assets, as well as providing preventive alerts in real-time.

 

How does the solution work?
There are two different types of devices for this solution, which are the cloud gateway device and the beacon. The beacon collects data and transmits it to the cloud gateway device. Both these devices are required in order for the solution to work.

 

What is the difference between the cloud gateway device and the beacon?
The cloud gateway device is a wireless gateway that needs to be connected to an electrical power source. It uses WiFi connectivity to transmit information. The beacon contains multiple sensors such as the temperature sensor. It transmits data to the cloud gateway device via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. The beacons can only work when paired together with the cloud gateway device.

 

Can I purchase one (1) cloud gateway device and use it with multiple beacons?
Yes, you can. However, a maximum of 200 beacons can be connected to one (1) cloud gateway device, and this is also subject to the setup environment.

 

Where can I view data information collected from the devices?
You can view your collected data on a mobile or web portal in real-time. You can also view the dashboard, access reports, as well as set policies for alerts on the portal.

 

How can I receive real-time alerts?
You can receive real-time alerts via SMS or email.

 

What type of internet connection will I need to use with the solution?
You will need a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection. We recommend subscribing to Maxis ONEBusiness Fibre to enjoy uninterrupted connectivity.

 

What is the optimal distance between the cloud gateway device and the beacon?
It is advisable to place the beacons within a 50 metre radius from the cloud gateway device.

 

What do I do when the battery of a beacon drains out?
The beacons have a battery life of up to 5 years and are not rechargeable. It will need to be swapped with a new beacon when the battery drains out.

 

Will I be alerted if the device is faulty?
There will be no alert if the device is faulty, but you will receive a notification if data information is not updated as it is supposed to be.

 

Is there any installation required for the solution?
You can install the devices on your own. Professional installation will be available upon request. However, charges will apply for any installation service.

 

If I would want to terminate my service subscription within the contract duration, is there a termination fee?
Yes. It will be the remaining months in the contract multiplied by the total monthly fee.
