How to Sell Online Effectively with MDEC Go-eCommerce
In 2020, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) selected Maxis as one of the Technology Solutions Providers (TSPs). We were honoured to have the opportunity to deliver the RM500 million SME Digitalisation Grant under Budget 2020.
As a TSP, Maxis was the first telecommunications company to deliver Digital Marketing and Cloud Point-of-Sales solutions to help SMEs restart their businesses. By driving 2 out of 5 Key SME Digitalisation Areas identified by the Government, Maxis was able to accelerate the digitalisation of SMEs in Malaysia to get their businesses running and transitioning smoothly into the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
The Introduction to eMarketplaces is an online course for businesses featured in Go-eCommerce aimed to understand the role and types of eCommerce businesses, online marketplace platforms and how to choose the right one for your business.
How does eCommerce work? From the point where the buyer orders an item online, up to the point where the buyer receives the item, the eCommerce Flow Chart below explains the process.
At a glance, the types of eCommerce businesses explained in the table below will give you an idea of the potential for your current business model. Essentially, there are 3 types of eCommerce businesses, namely Business to Business (B2B), Business to Customer (B2C) and Customer to Customer (C2C). Depending on your business goals, niche and careful market research, they need to more or less be aligned with the 6 factors to launch a sustainable eCommerce business.
For example, if you want to establish a successful B2B, B2C or C2C eCommerce business, you need to consider the motivation of your target market for you to better tailor your product or service as well as design a fuss-free buying process. Throughout the planning and execution, a certain number of decision-makers will be appointed. These are the people who would oversee the operations, project the sales number and create a structured sales process together with its timeline to close a sale.
